We’ve had so many clients who we did presenter training with present for ITV’s This Morning – Rylan Clark, Paul Frangie, Ravi Rajani, the guys at cosmetics company Lush…the list goes on.  And this week we had 2 more clients join the guys at This Morning – Georgina Burnett and Hanane Spiers.   Georgina did the private 1 to 1 presenter training programme, London and Hanane did the Fast Track 2 day presenter training course.  This Morning is a really hard TV presenting job – live TV with so much going on.   It’s not easy to master that space – but the Producers at ITV clearly love our clients as they keep on coming back for more!

PRESENTER STUDIO CLIENTS AT GRAND DESIGNS

Big congratulations to Fast Track Presenter Studio client Kunle Barker and 1-to-1 Presenter Studio client Georgina Burnett who both were presenting at the Ideal Home Show and are now going on to present for Grand Designs Live.  Kunle has gone on to get some great work after doing our fast track TV presenter training programme – he landed his own ITV makeover series with Alan Titchmarsh, got himself a TV presenter agent, and is now doing so much great media work.  He’s a really nice guy and so we knew he’d do well!  Kunle did the Fast Track TV presenter training programme with us, and like so many otehrs he has gone on to present on primetime TV.  He now has a fantastic agent who is taking Kunle's career to the next level.   Georgina has just had a very successful book launch and has been presenting on ITV's This Morning.  Big congrats both!

Public speaking is something that most of us dread.  But we see it as a great opportunity to share your thoughts, your passions, and a the perfect platform to bring about change.

Too many people focus on the word count, and the duration, rather than the message, and the delivery.  But in order to give a good presentation you need to think differently.

And it all starts and comes back to you needing to be yourself.  And that’s no easy thing when it comes to speaking in an alien environment.  The words you use are key to you coming across in a conversational manner.  And that’s how you need to think of your presentation – a conversation – a dialogue – rather than a lecture.  A sharing of ideas, thoughts and information.  No one likes being spoken at, or lectured to.

So when you write your script ask yourself – would I really speak like this normally?  Or have I just written a presentation or a script?  So many scripts we see are often very hard to understand, and we all too often stop the speaker and ask them ‘what are you trying to say’ or ‘what does this mean’ and the answer is more likely than not ‘I don’t know’.   So cut out the jargon, and the ‘corporate speak’ and chat as you would do to a mate. Make it feel personal, and make it feel natural.

And how you deliver your script needs to come across as ‘you’.   What is your personal brand?  How do you want to come across?  Does this fit in with the brand of your business?   We work with people to find their personal brand and it often comes down to three key things – after all we are three-dimensional characters.

And always come back to what is your key message.  What is the key reason you are giving your speech?   Speeches are often about wanting to bring about change – changing people’s view, changing their knowledge or perception and often the speakers ideal is for their to be a ‘call to action’.  But this can all often get lost in the waffle of the script.  So ask yourself – what is my topline here, and does everything I am saying relate back to it?  And does my outro (the ending to my speech) serve my purpose?

We hope those few tips help you to see things a little differently.   Be proud of who you are.  Be proud of what you have to say.  And make sure you are yourself!

THE UK'S NO 1 PRESENTER TRAINING COURSE

There are now so many presenter training courses out there, and it’s hard to work out who is who and which one is right for you.   So we thought we’d give you ten things that make us very different from all the rest!  We’re very unique in who we are and what we do here, so if you’re considering a presenter training course read on!...

1 – WE’RE TV PRODUCERS.  Gareth and Leon who are the MD’s of The Presenter Studio have worked in TV for over 20 years.  They were both staff at the BBC, and are now freelance Producers.  Leon is currently the Exec Producer on the award-winning series Gogglebox for Channel 4, and Gareth is currently the Exec Producer for a new entertainment show for MTV America.

2 – TV DEVELOPMENT. Gareth and Leon also have a great track record in getting new ideas commissioned and have done a lot of work in what’s called Development.   Gareth has been Head of Development for major TV companies, securing commissions for the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5 etc.  And their work in development always means they are looking for presenters to attach to their ideas.  And this is how many new presenters get work.

3 – WE’VE WORKED IN ALL TV GENRES:  Each genre of TV works very differently to the next, and demands different skills from the presenter.  So all the work we do here is tailor-made to the genre, channel and slot you want to work in.

4 – PRESENTER TALENT TASTER TAPES:  Presenter Showreels are often not worth the money you spend on them.  They are far too generic and simply feature a presenter ‘pretending to present’.  What Producers need to know is who you are and what makes you different, and how you are going to bring their show to life, and this comes down to your personality.  The Presenter Studio is the only presenter training company that makes a talent taster tape.

5 – WE OFFER THE INSIDE TRACK:  As we work in TV offer our clients an inside track into TV.  By working with us you get straight to the heart of the industry, and are seen by top TV Producers.  We are right at the top of our game in TV, our advise and work is based on 20 years producing some of TV’s biggest shows.  So the advise we give here is very different to what you’d find else where.

6 – OUR INCREDIBLE SUCCESS RATE:  We have an amazing success rate here, with so many of our clients going on to get great work for all the major channels here in the UK and America.  We never promise anyone any work, but what we do promise is an industry based experience that puts you on the right track.  If you have the talent, we have the industry know-how to help you succeed.

7 – EVERYTHING IS TAILOR-MADE:  All our presenter training courses are tailor-made to each person which is hugely important.  We work incredibly hard to make sure each person has a personal experience.  We never give generic advice – each person is different and needs to be produced differently.   Also we don’t do ‘group courses’.  The maximum number we allow to come and work with us on one of our presenter training programmes is 4 – and that’s the fast track presenter training programme.  This ensures you get as much on-camera time as possible to get some great clips for your taster tape edit.

8 – WE GET YOU WORK FOR FREE:  We have a talent database where we put presenters up for work for free.  We’ve got clients some great work.  Again we never promise anyone any work as we never know what work is going to be out there, but as we work in TV we hear of some great opportunities for some rather big TV programmes.

9 – Over the years we have worked with so many big names in TV.  Zoe Ball, Dermot O’Leary, Claudia Winkleman, Rylan Clarke, Tess Daily, Cat Deeley, Graham Norton, Ant and Dec…the list is endless!

10 – We’re great fun! TV is a fun industry, and is also very relaxed.  So we always want to have great fun with our clients and ensure that they not only get an industry based experience but also a fun one!

So if you want an industry based experience, that is tailor-made to you, that gives you the opportunity to work with and be seen by some of the biggest names in TV we are the right place for you!  And we look forward to working with you soon.

PRESENTATION SKILLS COACHING

Do you have a work presentation that you are about to deliver?  Do you speak regularly at events but have never had any help in writing your script or how to best come across?   Well we can help.   And our presentation skills coaching is based on over 20 years experience.

We have written scripts and produced top presenters like Zoe Ball, Dermot O’Leary, Tess Daily, Claudia Winkleman, Ant and Dec, international sports stars like Colin Jackson and Mark Webberand Executive Directors of major corporations like Prudential Plcand major brands like ASOS, Porsche, Conde Naste, The Guardian.

Making your presentation personal to you is key to its success.  Too many presentations feel too word focussed rather than message focussed. By that we mean that people tend to focus on writing a script that meets a word count, or a duration they have been given rather than – does this speech give a clear message, and am I delivering it in a way I want to be seen to come across?

We work with employees of all levels either in the lead up to a speech, or on the day itself.  With our help we give people the confidence and ideas to create more impactful speeches that they both enjoy and are proud of.

So contact us today and let us know what help you need, and we’ll tailor-make a presentation skills programme for you.   This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

PRESENTER TRAINING FOR VLOGGERS

At the Presenter Studio we work with a whole range of people who have to talk on camera.  One of the areas of work we love to do is to work with vloggers or influencers to help them build their brands, and to also make engaging videos.

We recently did lots of work with the amazing fashion brand ASOS.  They have personal stylists who also do lots of vlogging and videos for the brand.  We felt their videos lacked impact and also didn’t represent the freshness of the brand.  So not only did we work with them on presenter training, we also came up with creative ideas on how they could package their videos, what the setting could be, and how each stylist can make their videos their own.

It was great to work with ASOS.  We’re big fans of the brand.  And now we are big fans of their videos.

So if you are a vlogger, or an influencer and you want to make more engaging videos drop us a line.  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

We love getting feedback from all of our clients on our TV presenter training courses, London.   Our last fast track programme had a voice coach, a model, a interior stylist and a DJ.   We only allow a maximum of 4 people to come and train with us on each of our award-winning fast track presenter training programme.  Each person gave us five star reviews once more, and this is what all 4 clients had to say about us:

“I really enjoyed the training.  I’m grateful I got to show myself more, and my showreel is certainly better than my previous one.”

“I loved how practical it was!  Straight in there with exploring so many areas of TV and getting real hands-on experience.   It did not feel like a generic course at all, and it was clear we’d all been researched thoroughly and it was really tailor-made for each person.   Thank you!”

“I loved it all.  It was a really relaxed vibe, fun and super informative.  Crammed full with amazing info.   I’m simply amazed by it all.   You are a true gem!   Thank you so much xxx”

“It was all a massive help.  I just loved it and am very grateful of the experience you’ve given me.  Thank you!   Xxx”

We are so grateful and thankful for everyone’s kind words.  We are already hearing some really exciting news about auditions that have now come about as part of their training.

The next available fast track presenter training programme is in Feb.

And here’s a link to how you can book: http://presenterstudio.com/book-now/presenter-training-booking/award-winning-fast-track-programme

Our career consutations are a great way to have a focussed chat with a top TV producer.  The aim of these sessions is to open up doors, and ideas for new opportunities.  The Presenter Studio is run by 2 of the UK's most respected TV Producers - who have Exec Produced top series, and have held senior roles like Head of Development for production companies and channels.  So we have our ear to the groudn when it comes to what channels want and where the opportunities are, and therefore where our clients may fit in.

Today we're very excited to be catching up with Dr Philippa Kaye who came on our fast track presenter training programme a few years ago.  And as we write this she is currently appearing on BBC Two!  Go Philippa!

Since training with us Philippa has gone on to get some great TV work for the BBC with one appearance going viral with over 6 million views on youtube. Today we're catching up for a career consultation - Phillipa is a great talent and wants to build on the success she has had already.

And we can't wait to share our ideas with her! If you need a doctor for your TV or Radio project check out Philippa's website: https://www.drphilippakaye.com

WHAT AREA OF TV DO YOU WANT TO WORK IN?

Don’t be generic!  Too many presenters try and appeal to everyone, whereas you actually need to find out your USP.

All the genres of TV work very differently and it’s very rare for a presenter to work across them all.

The main genres are:

Entertainment

Factual Entertainment

Features

News

All of our training is specific to the genre of work we think you are best suited to.  So it pays to be different and it also pays to know where you’d fit in!

So if you want to find out where we think you’re best suited to come and work with us.  Take a look around the site www.presenterstudio.com at our training programmes or email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

WHAT MAKES A GOOD PRESENTER SHOWREEL?

Our TV Presenter Showreels are as unique as each one of our clients.  On our TV presenter training course, each client is expertly branded and marketed for success, and before they come and work with we design each person their own bespoke presenter training programme.

On the fast track presenter training programme we allow 4 people to come and work with us across 2 days.  Each person is doing different scripts and is being produced very differently to the next person.

The presenter showreels then take us around 3 -4 weeks to finish.  The showreels go through many a different stage and we generate lots of different versions until we come up with something that we feel shows off the client in the best light possible.

Our presenter showreels are totally different to what you can get elsewhere and we are the only presenter training company to do an industry standard product.  And that’s why so many of our clients go off and get some really big presenter jobs after working with us!

Take a look at this trio of talent taster tapes below from the last TV presenter training programme we held, and see how different each one is:
