We recently trained some of the team at one of our favourite brands Lush Cosmetics.  We love working with brands on how to use the media more effectively as a platform to increase brand awareness and heighten their marketability.  The LUSH team were just fantastic to work with, and after just 2 weeks of working with us were then on ITV's This Morning doing a feature, live in their studio.  This is no easy feat and they came across incredibly well.  So if you are a brand who wants to get on TV, improve your presentation skills get in touch with us!

GEORGINA BURNETT FEATURES IN THE STANDARD

Georgina Burnett came on our 1 to 1 private TV Presenter training course.  Since then she has gone on to enjoy a really successful TV presenter career, and is regularly seen on the BBC.  It was nice to see her in The Evening Standard this week too!

Here at The Presenter Studio we not only offer TV Presenter Training but we also are great at spotting talent.  If you have the talent to succeed we will do all we can to get you to where you want to be.  So many of the names on our Wall of Fame are people who, until they met us, had never been on screen before - and that's what excites us.  We can then help mould and advise you as to where to go, and how we think you have the best chance of success.  Eshaan Akbar had a fantastic 2 page article on him last night in the Evening Standard newspaper - naming him as one of the BBC Asian Network's latest breakout talents.  Eshaan first came on our one day 'How to make it as a TV Presenter' workshop - we love these sessions as they are informal and allow us to meet a broad range of people.  Eshaan at the time had just finished a career as a bankder and was looking for a new career.  We spotted an untapped talent in Eshaan and advised him to come and work with us further on the award-winning fast track TV Presenter Training Programme.  In that programme we not only spotted a man who was was a great talent for TV but we also saw great comedy potential.  So we advised him to develop this side of his brand further and find a stand-up comedy course...and since then he hasn't looked back, appearing on the BBC and taking his new show Prophet Like It's Hot to Edinburgh.   This has all happened since 2014, so the future looks 'hot' for Eshaan!

A PLACE IN THE SUN

We support all of our clients who come and train with us.  And this also means that we put them up for work for free.  We have placed presenters on all the major channels - C4, Channel 5, ITV, BBC, and in America.  And this week our friends at A Place in the Sun one of Channel 4's longest running TV series contacted us asking for us to recommend presenters.  They have already hire Scarlette Douglas who came on our How To Make it as a TV Presenter workshop, and so we've got a good success rate.  So good luck to all our presenters who have completed one of our TV presenter training courses, London.

Presenting a Pilot on TV

We've just Produced a new gameshow pilot for one of the major channels here in the UK.  The presenter's role in a TV pilot is crucial to the success of the idea.  You need to bring the show to life, nail the tone of the programme and in this case make sure that the rules, format and gameplay of the idea come to life.  It's no easy job.  You'd usually, as in this case get a script read-through and then before you know it you are thrust into a studio, with all the cameras, contestants and a crew who are on a tight timescale and have to hit the ground running.  Presenting in this kind of set up isn't easy and everyone's eyes are on you - hoping that you'd add that little extra to the idea.  So if you get a call to present a TV pilot make sure you read and learn your script as much as possible.  You don't have time on the day to be working it all out.  Also have a good attitude, you are the final piece in the puzzle and good team work is important for the success of any show!

We've just added 2 new fast track presenter training course dates to the website for July and August.  July has sold out already and there are limited places for August.  Click here to book:  http://www.presenterstudio.com/book-now/presenter-training-booking/award-winning-fast-track-programme

DO YOU NEED AN PRESENTER AGENT?

Lots of aspiring TV presenters focus on getting an TV presenter agent to get them work.  But you don’t need an presenter agent to get work, and if you are new TV presenter it’s really not expected that you will have one.  In TV we all love to find the next new talent.  And so we help our presenters bridge the gap between TV Producers like us whose job it is to find new TV presenters and people like yourself who want to get on screen.   As part of our TV presenter training we advise all of our clients to be proactive and to go out there and create their own opportunities and work.   This is how our industry works – it’s called show ‘business’ for a reason!  So the more business minded you can be, and with our insider knowledge we can help you get to where you want to be.  You just need to have the talent, good work ethic and a bit of luck (as we all do!) to get there!

TV CHANNELS WANT YOU

Getting in contact with TV channels is a great way to getting work.  We were once told at ITV that Judge Rinder got his presenter job after sending in what was simply a very cheeky email.   When you contact them everything needs to be on brand, and you need to contact the right people in the right department.   So if you are a features TV presenter for example you need to be contacting the people who commission the types of features TV programmes that you are right for.  Every TV channel and department work differently, so again it helps to understand how they work.  It’s part of commissioners' jobs to be on the look out for new presenting talent, so why not help them out and get in touch like so many of our clients have done!

PUBLIC SPEAKING – WHERE PEOPLE GO WRONG

Do you do presentations at work?  Or do you do public speaking?  Well read on...

The one thing people often say to us at the start of our session is ‘my speech is X minutes long’ or ‘my presentation is X minutes long’ so this is what I’ve done.

There’s an unhealthy obsession with ‘filling time’.   And so speeches or presentations are often written, and delivered as a means of ‘filling time’.   They are often drawn out, lack focus and forget the most important thing – what message are you wanting to deliver and how best can this message be presented?

Each public speech or presentation needs to be different.  You need to come up with your own formula – surprise the audience with your content rather than it being the usual set formula.   Think of your own personality – how would you usually speak to someone, and how best can you make this ‘your own’.

You’ll notice so many people who attend speeches are on their phones, or at lunchtime speak about going to the pub later on, but the speech should be the star attraction of the day.   The speech should be the talking point.  And your message should be what first gets discussed outside the room.

So much public speaking and presentation coaching is dated, out of touch and lacks the desired impact.  So if you want to work with people who can help you deliver something that works, that has impact and that will get people talking give The Presenter Studio a call or email.  0208 677 7143.  This email address is being protected from spambots.
