So what does he think of the new presenting line up?
After two weeks of shows he wanted to share some thoughts…
Emma feels like a natural fit. And she looks like she's been there forever she feels that that slick entertainment presenter that every entertainment format needs let me move over to Josh. Josh feels like a new and exciting name for BBC One entertainment he obviously came over from Channel 4, at BBC One on a Saturday night is a very different audience. At the moment it doesn't really feel like Josh has found his place on the show, and I think it's quite a difficult ask for him to be downstairs with Emma when the judges are giving their comments. At this point it's much more about hearing from the judges but also hearing from or dancing duo so there's not a lot of room the Josh to be funny or to get the quick quips in. As the series continues with less dancing duos there will be more time for these chats so I think that's when we'll really see him coming into his own.
Johannes upstairs also doesn't really feel like he's found his feet yet. It all feels very quiet up there what Claudia did was she made that section of the show almost a show in itself and this is what Johannes needs to do. And I feel the producers need to help him lean into his dance expertise a lot more so he has his own unique voice in this space.
As with all new talent combinations it does take an audience to get used to them particularly when Claudia and Tess was so loved. But what I would say is this is the BBC's biggest studio entertainment show and it does feel like the presenters are playing catch up. Whereas it would have been great to have seen them hitting the ground running stamping their own mark on the show and fine tuning along the way.
